The ESL One Hamburg schedule and prize money distribution
Shedding some light on the tournament structure for ESL One Hamburg.

In less than a month we are getting the season’s first Major underway at ESL One Hamburg and the eight teams are ready to go. In the lead-up we’ve finalized our tournament schedule, as well as the details for the prize money distribution - take a look!

Schedule

The tournament will span over four days, starting October 26th, with the final two days taking place in front of the live fans at the Barclaycard Arena in Hamburg. You can find the detailed day-by-day schedule for the group and knock-out stages below.

In regards to the Bo3 grand finals - ESL One Hamburg itself was planned, scheduled and budgeted before the announcement of the 2017-18 Competitive Season and its Pro Circuit. As such it was structured as an eight team, single elimination tournament with the final two days being played inside the Barclaycard Arena in Hamburg.

Due to the arrangements with the venue, sponsors and broadcasters that were already in place, it wasn’t possible for us to adjust the tournament structure after it was announced that ESL One Hamburg would become a Major. Scheduling and budget restrictions limit us to four days of play, which leaves us with not enough time and resources to accommodate 16 teams. Hence the first ever eight team Major with Bo3 finals.

While we have to make due with a Bo3 final for ESL One Hamburg, we can assure you that our other Majors later in the season will have a Bo5 grand final deserving of a Major.

Prize Money

On top of the one million Dollar prize pool, the players are of course also competing for the valuable Pro Circuit points, which are needed to qualify for TI8 down the line. 1500 of those are up for grabs at ESL One Hamburg and only the top four teams will get a share of the spoils.
